These fees are effective from 1 July 2025.
Driver's licence renewal fees
The below fees are for all full driver's licence types, including light and heavy vehicle driver's licences.
There is no additional fee to have a photo taken.

Transfer interstate licence fees
A $20 fee will apply to transfer your interstate driver's licence. Your new licence will have the same expiry date as your existing licence.
You can extend the expiry date of your licence at the same time by paying the renewal fee instead of the transfer fee.
If you have an interstate learner's permit, you'll need to pay the new learner's permit fee instead.
Transfer overseas licence fees
If you are transferring your overseas licence to a full South Australian licence, the driver’s licence renewal fees will apply. You can choose how long you would like the licence for when it is transferred at Service SA, e.g. 1 year.
If you have held your licence for less than 3 years or do not meet the minimum age requirement for a full licence, provisional licence fees will apply.

If your licence is from a non-recognised country
If your licence is from a country that South Australia does not recognise the licensing and testing standards, there will be additional licence testing fees before your licence can be transferred.
