Replace a driver's licence or permit
If your driver's licence, provisional licence or learner's permit is damaged, lost or stolen, you can order a replacement.
What happens next
A new licence or permit will be sent to your recorded residential or postal address within three weeks.
When you apply for a replacement online, you can print out a temporary licence or permit or download your new digital licence or permit immediately using the mySA GOV app. Digital licences and permits displayed in the app are an electronic form of your existing physical licence or permit.
If you have not received the replacement licence within 21 days phone Service SA on 13 10 84. If you don't contact Service SA within 30 days you may need to pay a replacement fee.
A licence number is also known as a client number. You can find your client number on various documents - eg registration renewal notice, registration details certificate, proof of age card. If you don't have your licence or client number phone Service SA on 13 10 84 for assistance.
Replace when interstate or overseas
If you are temporarily interstate or overseas you can replace your licence in your mySA GOV account. The new licence will be posted to your recorded residential or postal address - so make sure you've nominated an Australian postal address prior to applying for a replacement licence.
