If your driver's licence, provisional licence or learner's permit is damaged, lost or stolen, you can order a replacement.
There is a different process if your licence has been compromised through identity theft.
You need a mySAGOV account to apply online. Create an account if you don't already have one.
Fee: $20
What happens next
A new licence or permit will be sent to your recorded residential or postal address within three weeks.
When you apply for a replacement online, you can print out a temporary licence or permit or download your new digital licence or permit immediately using the mySAGOV app. Digital licences and permits displayed in the app are an electronic form of your existing physical licence or permit.
If you have not received the replacement licence within 21 days phone Service SA on 13 10 84. If you don't contact Service SA within 30 days you may need to pay a replacement fee.
Licence number
A licence number is also known as a client number. You can find your client number on various documents - eg registration renewal notice, registration details certificate, proof of age card.
Replace when interstate or overseas
If you are temporarily interstate or overseas you can replace your licence using your mySAGOV account. The new licence will be posted to your recorded residential or postal address - so make sure you've supplied an Australian postal address before applying for a replacement licence.
