Volunteers

All checks are free for volunteers. Working with Children Checks are free for foster carers.

Students

Secondary students on work experience can get a free Working with Children Check and should apply for a volunteer check.

Tertiary students pay a single fee of $71, no matter how many checks are needed, if:

  • they are on official placements connected to their studies, and
  • the applications are submitted at the same time.

All students doing paid work are required to apply for a check as an employee and pay the relevant fee.

Employees

Fees for employees depend on the type of check needed.

  • Working with Children Check – $140
  • NDIS worker check – $140
  • Aged care sector employment check – $109.

Applications to revoke a Working with Children Check prohibition notice must include the $140 fee.

NDIS check volunteers to paid employment

NDIS check applicants who are volunteers moving into paid employment must pay a fee based on the time remaining on any current 5-year check.
