Volunteers
All checks are free for volunteers. Working with Children Checks are free for foster carers.
Students
Secondary students on work experience can get a free Working with Children Check and should apply for a volunteer check.
Tertiary students pay a single fee of $64.50, no matter how many checks are needed, if:
- they are on official placements connected to their studies, and
- the applications are submitted at the same time.
All students doing paid work are required to apply for a check as an employee and pay the relevant fee.

Fees for employees depend on the type of check needed.

NDIS check applicants who are volunteers moving into paid employment must pay a fee based on the time remaining on any current five-year check.
