People living outside of Australia can apply for a screening check by creating a SA screening account and applying online.
This includes:
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Worker Check
- Aged care Sector Employment Check.
Accepted identity documents
Your identity documents must include evidence of your right to enter Australia and work in this country.
Identity documents you can use to support your application include current:
- Australian passport or foreign passport with valid Australian visa
- Australian citizenship certificate
- Australian Immicard
and
- United Nations Convention Travel Document or equivalent
- national photo identity card – government issued
- foreign driver’s licence
- birth certificate.
Name changed
If you've changed your name, you must also give us another document that shows the change. This could be a marriage certificate, deed poll or change of name certificate.
Gender
If your identity documents don't reflect your preferred gender, you must give us a document that shows your preferred gender. For example, an amended birth certificate or a statement from a registered medical practitioner.
Documents in languages other than English
If your identity documents aren't written in English, you must:
- give us a certified copy of the original document
- arrange for the translation of your documents into English.
Translations must be done by an approved translation service. The translation must also be certified as a true and correct copy by the service.
To find an approved translator in your country contact your nearest Australian Embassy, High Commission, or Consulate.

If you are unable to complete your identity verification online, contact the Screening Unit.
