Statement of Reasons for Authorised Program Officers (75.2 KB DOCX) - This document supports APOs to make and record restrictive practices authorisation decisions.

Participant consultation - practice guide (190.9 KB PDF) - This practice guide explains what we mean by consultation when discussing restrictive practices with people with disability. This is a legal requirement under the RPAS.

Participant consultation - template and example (1.8 MB PDF) - This template provides an example of how to consult with participants about restrictive practices, and how to record this information.

Written notice guidance (42.1 KB DOCX) - This document explains how registered NDIS service providers can meet the legal requirements to provide written notices of authorised restrictive practice usage to participants and/or guardians under the RPAS.

Written notice usage template (35.9 KB DOCX) - This template can be used when providing written notices on the use of an authorised restrictive practice for a participant under the RPAS.

Search provisions guide and template (71.6 KB DOCX) - This guide and template supports registered NDIS service providers to develop a local procedure about using the search provisions in Part 6A of the Disability Inclusion Act 2018, as amended by the Disability Inclusion (Restrictive Practices – NDIS) Amendment Act 2021.
