Transfer an unregistered boat

If you acquire a boat with expired South Australian registration, you will need to re-register the boat in your name.

Proof of ownership

Evidence of identity

Cost

A $18 transfer fee applies.

You need to pay a renewal fee. No concessions are available.

How to apply

Complete an application for new owner re-registration (1.4 MB PDF)

Return the form to a Service SA customer service centre with:

  • registration fee and facilities levy for the period required
  • proof of vessel ownership
  • evidence of identity.
