When you buy a currently-registered boat, you must register it in your name within 14 days.

People who need to transfer a current boat registration.
What you need
To transfer the remaining period of registration, you will need the registration certificate, signed by the seller and the new owner.
Unregistered boats
If you buy a boat that is unregistered, you will need to apply for a new owner re-registration (214.6 KB PDF).
If your boat has been never been registered you will need to register it for recreational use in South Australia.
Cost
A transfer fee applies.
How to apply
Lodge the signed registration certificate at Service SA and pay the transfer fee.
