Transfer boat registration

When you buy a currently-registered boat, you must register it in your name within 14 days.

Who is this for

People who need to transfer a current boat registration.

Unregistered boats

If you buy a boat that is unregistered, you will need to apply for a new owner re-registration.

If your boat has been never been registered you will need to register it for recreational use in South Australia.

What you need

Registration certificate signed by the seller and you as the new owner.

Evidence of identity

Cost

A $18 transfer fee applies.

Complete the application form and return it to Service SA.
