Apply for a commercial South Australian marine pilots licence.
When applying for a marine pilots licence you'll need to meet certain requirements and provide some documentation.

What you'll need
You must include:
- a passport-quality photo
- a character declaration (PDF 250.4 KB)
- a copy of your current marine certificate of competency issued by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) or other relevant qualifications
- a current AMSA or DIT medical certificate (PDF 255.6 KB) (must be issued within past 6 months)
- a log of qualifying voyages signed by a licensed marine pilot or marine pilot exempt master,
- letters of endorsement from the relevant Port Authority
- any other supporting documentation.
What happens next
If your application is approved you will receive a marine pilot's licence in the mail within 3 weeks of lodging your application.
