Start a screening check application as an employer

An employer can start a screening application on behalf of a current or prospective employee or volunteer.

What you’ll need

Before you start an application on behalf of an individual, you’ll need to have:

  • the individual’s consent for your organisation to start an application on their behalf
  • advised and made sure the person understands that your organisation will create a registration of interest or link to their WWCC or NDIS Worker Check if they say yes (if applicable)
  • the individual’s full name, date of birth and unique personal email address.

Email address

You must not use a generic email address, or your own email address, to start applications on behalf of another person.

This is because the person you have started an application for must create an individual screening account linked to their unique email address to complete the process.

You will not be able to start an application if the email address has already been used.

What happens next

When you have completed the organisation component of the application, the Screening Unit will email login details to the individual. They will then need to complete and submit the application within 28 days.
