Manage your vehicles on direct debit

Make sure your vehicle registration is paid on time by keeping your direct debit details up to date.

Update your bank or credit card details

  1. Log in to mySAGOV using a browser - not the mobile app.
  2. Go to My account > Payment methods
  3. Update your expiry date or add your new card.

If you pay your registration by direct debit, you must also link your new payment method to your vehicle(s).

How to link your new payment method to your vehicle

  1. Select Home (top left of screen)
  2. Go to Manage direct debit
  3. Tick the vehicle(s) > Select Continue
  4. Choose your new payment method from the drop-down list
  5. Choose your new contact method and review preferences > Select Continue
  6. Select I agree > Select Finish.

Update your email

You must follow all steps and verify your new email address to finish the update.

  1. Log in to mySAGOV using a browser - not the mobile app.
  2. Go to My account > Change email address.
  3. Enter your new email > Select Save.
  4. When prompted > Select Log in again.
  5. Log in again using your new email address - you'll be sent a verification link.
  6. Check your inbox and select Verify your email address.
  7. Return to your mySAGOV account > Select Back to EzyReg Account (top right).

Your new email address will now appear in your account.

Update your mobile

How you update your mobile number depends on how it's used in your account. You may need to complete one or both of the steps below.

For two-factor authentication (2FA)

If you still have access to your current device or mobile number:

  1. Log in to mySAGOV using a browser - not the mobile app.
  2. Select My account > Manage two-factor authentication.
  3. Select Remove, then Continue.
  4. Set up 2FA again using your new mobile number or another option.

The 6-digit code we send to your phone to verify that it’s you, protects your account from unauthorised access.

If you no longer have access to your device or mobile number, you'll need to recover your account instead.

For notification preferences

If you receive renewal notices or direct debit notifications by SMS:

  1. Log in to mySAGOV using a browser - not the mobile app.
  2. Select My account > Change mobile.
  3. Enter your new number and select Save.
  4. Text the verification code shown on screen to the number provided.
  5. Once verified, select Done.

Choose a different renewal period, CTP insurer or ITC option

You can choose a different renewal period, CTP insurer or ITC option at any time.

We'll also send you a reminder every 12 months so you can review your CTP insurer.

  1. Log in to mySAGOV using a browser - not the mobile app.
  2. Select View and manage my vehicles.
  3. Select Modify vehicles on direct debit.
  4. Select the tick box alongside the plate number of the relevant vehicle.
  5. Select your new renewal period, CTP insurer or ITC option.
  6. Select Continue then I agree.
  7. Select Finish.

Remove your vehicle from direct debit

  1. Log in to mySAGOV using a browser - not the mobile app.
  2. Select View and manage my vehicles.
  3. Select Remove vehicles from direct debit.
  4. Select the vehicles you want to remove from direct debit and select Continue.
  5. Confirm the vehicles to be removed from direct debit and select Continue.
  6. Select Finish.

Alternatively, the direct debit will automatically stop if:

Get a copy of your paper renewal or registration certificate

Once direct debit is setup, paper renewals are no longer be sent.

If you need a copy of your paper renewal notice or registration certificate:

  1. Log in to mySAGOV using a browser - not the mobile app.
  2. Select View and manage my vehicles.
  3. Select Details alongside the registration number of the relevant vehicle.
  4. Scroll down and under Your records, select Download application for renewal of registration or Download registration details certificate.
