In South Australia, your disability parking permit lets you park in spaces marked with the international symbol of access.
Displaying your permit
Your permit must:
- clearly show the permit number and expiry date from outside the vehicle — hang it from the rearview mirror or place it on the passenger side of the dashboard
- be current, and not damaged, altered, or copied
- only be displayed while the car is parked — not while driving.
Using your permit
Permit conditions
- You must follow any time limits shown on disability parking spaces.
- You can only use your permit when the vehicle is:
- transporting the permit holder, or
- being used by an organisation providing transport services to people with a disability.
Parking concessions
If a disability parking space is not available, your permit gives you extra time in other spaces.

| Where a sign shows: | You can park for: |
|---|---|
| Less than 30 minutes | Maximum 30 minutes |

Paid parking spaces
- You can park for free in ticket parking spaces in on-street areas of Adelaide city and North Adelaide.

- Private car parks set their own rules and fees — always check the signs before parking.
