Most of the boat ramps and jetty points in South Australia are owned by local councils. Each council is responsible for making sure the facilities under their care are kept in safe working order.

From 1 December 2025, the State Government is providing 12 months of free boat ramp access across South Australia.

Grants to upgrade facilities

If you would like your local boat ramp upgraded, or a new facility developed, you can contact your local council. The council is able to apply for funding assistance from the boating facilities fund.
