Ferry locations and operational status

Take care around the current high flows into the River Murray.  Vessel restrictions are in place to help keep river users safe and protect infrastructure. View these restrictions and read about River Murray Flood Event - Marine Safety Advice.

Operational status

Ferry service operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week at each location unless a temporary closure is in place. There is no charge for the public to use the service.

The Lyrup ferry will be closed from 7:00 pm on 30 November 2022 until further notice.

The ferry will be expected to remain closed while flood conditions remain above 120 GL/day.

Waikerie

Operational with Restrictions

Whilst high level landing is in use, the following conditions apply:

B-Doubles not permitted

Light vehicles, school buses and emergency vehicles are permitted.

General Access heavy vehicles up to 19 metres in length and less than 42.5 tonne are permitted.

Upstream: Kingston bridge

Morgan

The Morgan ferry will be closed from 7:00 pm on 6 December 2022 until further notice.

The ferry will be expected to remain closed while flood conditions remain above 120 GL/day.
