Registering power of attorney
You don't have to register your power of attorney. However, before your donee/s can deal with your real estate, the power of attorney must be lodged at Land Services SA.
Revoke a power of attorney
To revoke a power of attorney, you must:
- inform your donee in writing that you're ending their appointment
- inform your bank and any other relevant groups or businesses your donee may have been dealing with that the appointment has been revoked.
If you don't do this, your donee can legally continue to make decisions on your behalf.
If your power of attorney has been lodged with Land Services SA, you must lodge a revocation with them. Instructions on how to do this are included in the Do-it-yourself Enduring Power of Attorney Kit.
