Apply for a proof of age card
You must be 18 years of age or older to be eligible for a proof of age card. It can take up to a month for you to get your card once you apply. A proof of age card does not expire.
Before you begin
You'll need to provide at least three documents that together show your full name, date of birth, signature and current South Australian residential address. If you have a photographic learner's permit or licence you may not need to supply full evidence of identity. A payment is required with the application.
How to apply
If you already have a driver's licence or learner's permit and your photo was taken less than 30 years ago, you can apply online.
Replacing a proof of age card
If your photo is less than 30 years old you can apply for a replacement proof of age card online.
You can make a new application at a Service SA customer service centre.
You will need to provide evidence of identity. You may not need to supply full evidence of identity if you already have a photographic learner's permit or driver's licence.
There is a fee for replacing a proof of age card. Allow up to a month for your card to arrive in the mail.
