Other ways to renew a driver's licence

If you can't renew online, you can renew in person or by post:

In person at a Service SA centre

Take your current licence and the renewal form posted to you to a Service SA customer service centre. If you don't have the renewal form, you can download and complete an application form (237.2 KB PDF) to take with you to Service SA.

You can pay by cash, money order, Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card.

When you renew in person, you will be given a temporary licence. A temporary licence is valid for a period of 1 calendar month or until you get the photo licence in the mail, whichever is earlier.

If you can't attend a Service SA centre, you can renew your driver’s licence and have your photograph taken at selected Australia Post offices providing:

  • you have the renewal form you received in the post
  • your licence has not expired by more than 6 months
  • you have not changed your address, name or other licence details.

Find a participating Australia Post location by entering a postcode - the search is pre-set to find locations that can take a new photograph and renew an SA licence.

By post to Service SA

Send your completed application with payment by cheque, money order, Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card to:
