Working with Children Check

In South Australia, all people working or volunteering with children, or who may work or volunteer with children, must have a current Working with Children Check to comply with the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Regulations 2019.

If there's no chance of you working or volunteering with children during the course of your duties, then a statutory declaration (430.3 KB PDF) must be provided with your Motor Driving Instructor (MDI) application stating that you will not work or volunteer with children.

Where a statutory declaration is provided with an MDI application and the application is successful, the licence will have a condition applied and printed on it, 'must not work or volunteer with children'.

This condition is valid for the term of the licence, up to 5 years.

You can't have the condition removed later by providing a Working with Children Check, as the licence can't be reissued before the term has expired.
