The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) processes all heavy vehicle access permits for travel within South Australia and across state and territory borders.

An additional fee may be payable to the road manager for a route assessment to decide whether or not to give consent for a mass or dimension exemption.
Costs may include:
- vehicle inspection at other than a Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) site
- route inspection or survey, bridge or culvert assessment, conditions applicable to the permit
- costs of other actions as identified.
This fee will be the estimated cost of providing the assessment. You'll be advised of the amount and it must be paid prior to the assessment
