From 1 July 2026, South Australian residents will be able to access a once off $250 rebate for eligible pre-fertility treatment testing, and a $2,000 rebate for eligible fertility treatment cycles for up to two cycles.
To be eligible you must:
- be a South Australian resident.
- be the person seeking to become pregnant with the use of fertility treatments. Eligible fertility tests can be for either a male or female, but only the individual seeking to become pregnant can submit an application for the rebate.
- have had an out-of-pocket expense for an eligible pre-fertility test from an appropriate specialist or an eligible fertility treatment cycle from a registered Assisted Reproductive Treatment Provider.
- be receiving testing or treatment for a fertility issue.
- have accessed the testing or treatment from 1 July 2026.
Individuals must also meet at least one of the following financial eligibility criteria:
- Receive Family Tax Benefit.
- Have a Health Care Card (including Low Income Health Care Card and Pensioner Concession Card).
- Have a household income of $180,000 or less.
