Make an objection or request for easement rights

When making an objection or requesting easement rights to a road opening or closure, the following points must be adhered to:

  • The objection or request for easement rights must be in writing including two copies:
    • a copy addressed to the applicable council (or the State Commission Assessment Panel (SCAP) where the road closure is associated with a SCAP development)
    • forward a courtesy copy to the Surveyor-General at DTI.RoadOpeningClosing@sa.gov.au or GPO Box 1815, Adelaide SA 5001.
  • The objection or request for easement rights must state the name and address of the person making the objection.
  • Specify how the road opening or closure impacts upon the person making the objection.
  • Any objection must be received by the council and Surveyor-General within 28 days of the public notice being published in the Government Gazette.
