Development (Building Cladding) Variation Regulations 2018

The Development (Building Cladding) Variation Regulations 2018 were announced in the Government Gazette (page 767-769 issue 09/2018) and came into effect on 12 March 2018. The Regulations introduce provisions regulating the use of designated building products on designated buildings.

Designation of a building and building product and prescribed supervisors checklist

A designated class of building and designated kind of building product and a prescribed supervisors checklist were announced in the Government Gazette (page 1202-1205 issue 19/2018) and came into effect on 20 March 2018.

  • Notice A designated a type of building product and class of building that requires specific information to be provided and where required, the use of a performance solution template under Schedule 5 of the Development Regulations 2008.
  • Notice B published a prescribed supervisor's checklist that applies under Regulation 74 of the Development Regulations 2008.

Amendment 1 to Volume One of the Building Code of Australia 2016

Amendment 1 to Volume One of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) was announced in the Government Gazette (page 996 issue 12/2018). The Amendment will come into effect on 12 March 2018 and is available from the Australian Building Codes Board website.

The Building Code of Australia 2016 was announced in the Government Gazette (page 1239 issue 22/2016) on 21 April 2016 and came into effect in South Australia with several exceptions, variations and additions on 1 May 2016.

Amendment 1 to Minister's Specification SA Upgrading health and safety in existing buildings

Amendment 1 to Minister's Specification SA Upgrading health and safety in existing buildings (811.9 KB PDF) was announced in the Government Gazette (page 5063 issue 82/2017). The amendment contains editorial corrections to Appendix A1 and came into effect on 19 December 2017.
