Devon Park Residential Amendment
The Devon Park Residential Development Plan Amendment (DPA) was approved by the Minister for Planning by notice in the South Australian Government Gazette on 30 April 2020.
Purpose of the amendment
The Minister for Planning is proposing to amend the Development Plan for the City of Port Adelaide Enfield to rezone a site at Devon Park (at the intersection of Belford Avenue and Bolingbroke Avenue) from its existing light industry activities to support medium density residential development.
Entech Electronics, which currently occupies the site, is relocating to an alternative site that is more compatible with its future manufacturing directions. This has provided an opportunity to amend the local planning policy framework to enable a land use that is more appropriate to its residential context. On this basis, the DPA proposes a planning policy framework that supports low to medium density residential development that can also take advantage of the availability of public transport, nearby parks, schools, shops and services. In this respect, the DPA will implement key targets of The 30-Year Plan for Greater Adelaide.

The DPA affects land within the Port Adelaide Enfield Council Development Plan.

Consultation on Ministerial DPAs is managed by the South Australian State Planning Commission (the Commission), an independent statutory body which provides advice to the Minister on planning and development issues.
The period for receiving written public submissions closed on 19 September 2019, followed by a public meeting held on 10 October 2019.
