
Capital City amendment
Current status
The Capital City Development Plan Amendment (DPA) - (3.8 MB PDF) was approved by the Minister for Planning by notice in the South Australian Government Gazette on 25 October 2012.
This fact sheet - (1.3 MB PDF) describes the planning policy changes that were included in the amendment and the additional changes made by the Minister in response to feedback from the community.
Purpose of the amendment
This DPA introduces new planning policies into the Adelaide development plan. The changes will provide a more robust and flexible planning framework for the city that responds to change and supports high-quality, innovative design in new development.
Area affected by the amendment
The amendment affects parts of Adelaide's central business district and North Adelaide.

The Development plan affected is the Adelaide (City) Development Plan.
Consultation process
Consultation on Ministerial DPAs is conducted by the Development Policy Advisory Committee (DPAC), an independent statutory committee which provides advice to the Minister for Planning.
Public consultation on the amendment closed on 1 June 2012. A public meeting was held on 27 June 2012.
