Bowden Urban Village and Environs amendment
The Bowden Urban Village and Environs development plan amendment (DPA) - was approved by the Minister for Planning by notice in the South Australian Government Gazette on 5 July 2012.
Purpose of the amendment
This development plan amendment (DPA) proposes to amend land use policy in the site known as Bowden Urban Village and the surrounding areas, including a section of Port Road. This will allow for the development of new housing, complementary retail and commercial buildings, open spaces and transport infrastructure.

Area affected by the amendment
The area affected includes:
- former industrial land in Bowden
- an existing commercial area on Port Road
- a section of Park Terrace adjoining the Adelaide Park Lands.
The development plans affected are:
- Charles Sturt Council Development Plan
- Adelaide (City) Development Plan.

Consultation on Ministerial DPAs is conducted by the Development Policy Advisory Committee (DPAC), an independent statutory committee which provides advice to the Minister for Planning.
Public consultation on the amendment closed on 11 April 2012. A public meeting was held on 24 April 2012.
