Apply to voluntary deregister an incorporated association

If an incorporated association chooses to deregister, it must notify CBS using the form below.

To submit this form, a special resolution must have been passed to voluntarily deregister the association.

What you’ll need

  • A copy of the meeting minutes, signed by the person who presided over the meeting, to show evidence that:
    • at least 21 days written notice of the intention to deregister was provided to members
    • a special resolution was passed by at least 75% of members at the meeting
    • the applicant being authorised by the association to apply for deregistration
    • how assets are to be distributed.
  • A copy of the rules of the association to be wound up.
  • Exemption from CBS (if applicable).

What happens next

An assessment officer will review your application within 15 business days and provide feedback.
