Organisations that run a lottery (major or instant) or bingo may need to submit a financial statement to Consumer and Business Services (CBS).

What you’ll need

Major lotteries

  • The total gross proceeds and net proceeds of the lottery.
  • The total value of net proceeds distributed to the approved purposes(s).
  • Date and address where the draw took place.
  • Ticket details (total number of tickets printed, total number of unsold/lost tickets, ticket price, total number of tickets sold).
  • Gross proceeds and net proceeds from ticket sales.
  • List of winners (including full name, address and prize value).
  • Auditor and scrutineer details.

Instant lotteries

  • The total gross proceeds and net proceeds of the lottery.
  • The total value of net proceeds distributed to the approved purposes(s).
  • Ticketing details (serial numbers, cost price per box, number of tickets per box, total tickets sold, selling price of tickets, cost per ticket, total value of prizes distributed).

Major bingo

  • The total gross proceeds and net proceeds of the lottery.
  • Details of bingo sessions (session venue, date of session, gross proceeds, prizes, jackpots and net proceeds).

What happens next

Your application will be assigned to an assessment officer for review within 10 business days and feedback may be provided to you.
