Cylinder compartments are dedicated compartments that should only house the cylinders and associated gas equipment. Doors should be fully sealed, lockable and clearly labelled.
Compartment doors should have upper and lower ventilation to allow leaking gas to escape, or there should be a drain hole within the compartment. The drain hole can have a hose attached to it to move leaking gas away to a safe location.
- The drain hose for the compartment must terminate at least 1500mm away from an ignition source
- Any opening - vents or drains - must be located outside of the 1500mm ignition zone.
