Incident and communication protocol
A water and sewerage incident notification and communication protocol has been developed to give water industry entities a clear understanding of their notification and reporting requirements to the Office of the Technical Regulator (OTR).
It should be noted that this protocol does not absolve the entities' responsibilities to any other agency, such as those included in the Environment Protection Authority's water/wastewater incident notification and communication protocol, or other similar documents.
How to report an incident to the Office of the Technical Regulator
- Refer to the OTR's water and sewerage infrastructure notification and communication protocol to determine the type of incident (Priority Type 1, Type 1, Type 2) and the associated notification requirements.
- Complete verbal notification within the nominated timeframe, if applicable.
- Complete and submit the water and sewerage infrastructure incident notification form within the nominated timeframe.
