The SA Bushfire Appeal was launched in December 2019 to raise funds for the people and communities directly affected by the Cudlee Creek and Kangaroo Island bushfires. The appeal closed 31 July 2020.
Gift payments
SERF distributed the $9,058,350 donated to the appeal to affected households and community groups, in payments of up to:
- $25,000 for families of the people who died in the fires
- $25,000 for seriously injured individuals
- $15,000 for households and $1,000 per child, whose principal place of residence was destroyed or rendered uninhabitable
- $3,100 for infrastructure damage
- $4,000 for affected businesses and registered apiarists
- $500 for property owners with non-infrastructure damage
- $20,000 for projects being undertaken within the affected communities.
