Support for students from non-English speaking backgrounds

The English as an Additional Language or Dialect program provides support for students of non-English speaking backgrounds and their families at schools and new arrivals centres. The program helps students to access the curriculum in mainstream education through:

  • language and literacy support
  • bilingual support
  • community support through community liaison officers
  • educational psychology support
  • interpreting and translating services.
