Community Language Schools (CLS) program

Over 90 accredited Community Language Schools offer a language and cultural program in 48 languages. See Community Language Schools of South Australia (CLSSA) website.

The program is open to all school aged students, regardless of their linguistic and cultural background. The schools are non-government and non-profit organisations.

Community Language Schools provide a minimum of 2 hours of lessons each week to:

  • teach language skills and offer a cultural program
  • maintain the various cultures of Australian communities
  • promote cultural understanding and harmony.
