Positive parenting

For some, becoming a parent can be an overwhelming experience. Parents are learning as they go, and there's a lot to come to terms with fairly quickly.

The Positive Parenting Messaging program connects parents with information on how to support their child's development when they’re most likely to need it. Parents will receive text messages pointing them to videos produced by the Raising Children Network.

These videos give practical tips on some of the most common challenges parents face in the first two years of raising a child, and are among the most popular videos on raisingchildren.net.au.

Unless they request otherwise when registering the birth of their child, parents of newborns can receive these messages from eight weeks after the birth of their child. The videos are also available on YouTube.
