Technical colleges – start your career during high school

Five new public technical colleges are being built across South Australia – 3 in metropolitan Adelaide and 2 in regional South Australia.

Technical colleges will support students in years 10 to 12 to complete their SACE while undertaking vocational education and training (VET) in specialist facilities.

Findon Technical College opened in January 2024. Port Augusta Technical College is set to open in mid-2025 and colleges in Tonsley, Modbury Heights and Mount Gambier will follow in 2026.

Who can apply

All high school students can apply for a technical college. This includes public or private school students. Programs are designed for students in years 10 to 12.

You can also apply to a technical college even if you're not a local. School zones don't apply to technical colleges.
