You no longer need a registration certificate if you're buying or selling a vehicle (including a car, caravan, motorcycle or trailer). You can complete a notice of disposal or transfer of registration online.
If you still require a replacement certificate for your vehicle, a $20 fee applies.
If you have a mySAGOV account, you can download a replacement certificate for free.
You can also access a copy of your registration receipts for any vehicle registered in your name.
Replace online
- Log in to your mySAGOV account using your internet browser (not the mySAGOV app). Select Start now below to begin.
- Select Vehicle list in the Vehicles section
- Select Details alongside the plate number of the relevant vehicle
- Scroll down and under Your records, select Download registration details certificate
- A message will display, providing access to a PDF copy of the certificate.
It is free to download the certificate from a mySAGOV account.
Replace registration receipt
You can access a copy of your registration receipts for the last 5 years for any vehicle registered in your name.
- Log in to your mySAGOV account using your internet browser (not the mySAGOV app). Select Start now below to begin.
- Select Vehicle list in the Vehicles section
- Select Details alongside the plate number of the relevant vehicle
- Scroll down and under Your records, select View past payments
- Select Print Tax Invoice alongside the transaction you're looking for
- A message will display, providing access to a PDF copy of the receipt.
