Replace a driver's licence in person
If your driver's licence, provisional licence or learner's permit is damaged, lost or stolen, you can apply for a replacement at a Service SA customer service centre.

What happens next
You will be given a temporary licence that is valid for a period of one calendar month or until you get the photo licence in the mail, whichever is earlier.
Your new driver’s licence/permit will be posted to you within three weeks.

If you have the mySA GOV app, you can access a digital version of your licence instantly. Digital passes and licences displayed in the mySA GOV app are an electronic form of your existing physical licence.
If you have not received the new licence within 21 days phone Service SA on 13 10 84. If you don't contact Service SA within 30 days of renewing your licence you may need to pay a replacement fee.
