Photo identification

While making an application, you will need to upload a photo of yourself holding your SA driver's licence card so we can authenticate your (applicant's) identity. To ensure your photo meets the required standards, please ensure:

  • Your face and ID are in focus, and there are no obstructions
cartoon example of a person holding their ID in a confirmation photo. The person's face is clearly visible, and the ID is being held by the edges so the details are not obscured. Both the person and the ID are in focus and the details and photo on the ID are legible.
  • Your background is clear, and the photo has no effects
Cartoon example of three instances of a person holding their ID for a verification photo. In one version, the ID is too close to the camera and the person's face is out of focus. This has a red X denoting it's not acceptable. In another version, the person is holding their ID so it obscures their face. This also has an X as it is unacceptable. In the other version, the person's face and ID are both clear and legible. This has a green check mark and is acceptable.
