The SA Concessions Energy Discount Offer (SACEDO) is an offer of electricity and gas discounts and payment options, available only to energy concession customers.
This offer is only available with Origin Energy. It is different to the energy concession.
The SACEDO includes:
- 20% guaranteed discount off Origin's standard electricity usage and supply charges
- 15% guaranteed discount off Origin's standard natural gas usage and supply charges
- other savings and flexible payment options.
LPG users can access a 40% discount off Origin’s local price of a 45kg cylinder for a period of 12 months from when they accept the offer.
It does not matter if you have electricity or gas, or both – you can still get the discounts and improved terms.

How to apply
- Step 1
Check if you are receiving the energy concession
You can only get the SACEDO if you are receiving the energy concession.
Look for the concession on your electricity bills. If you are not sure, call ConcessionsSA.
- Step 2
Compare SACEDO to your current plan
You can compare the plans by entering your electricity bill details on the Energy Made Easy website – compare energy plans.
You can also contact your energy retailer and ask if they can improve your current deal. Make sure you understand any fees involved with switching. For example, exit or early termination fees.
Remember your own needs and circumstances. For example, if you have solar, make sure that you take this into account when considering SACEDO.
How much you’ll save depends on the current plan you are on and your usage.
- Step 3
Take up SACEDO
If taking up the offer will save you money, follow the steps below.
Existing Origin customers
Phone Origin on 1300 791 465 to apply.
If you are already getting the energy concession, the SACEDO discount will start as soon as you agree to the plan.
Customers with a different retailer
You must change your retailer to Origin to take up the SACEDO.
- To apply, phone Origin on 1300 791 465.
- Origin will organise a special meter read free of charge and transfer your energy account.
- When you get your first electricity bill from Origin, call ConcessionsSA to keep your standard energy concession running. Origin cannot transfer your concession.
