Exemptions - packaged liquor sales licence

You can apply for exemptions from requiring that the licensed premises:

  • only carry out business specified by the licence, and
  • be physically separate from premises used for other commercial purposes.

You must demonstrate that the exemptions would be in the public interest - eg a general store in a regional location.

You don't need an exemption to sell goods in the same premises if they're normally associated with the sale of liquor - e.g glasses, decanters, cheeses and pates.
