Existing tobacco licence holders

Changes to South Australia's tobacco laws have now come into effect for new and existing licence holders. More information is available on the Consumer and Business Services website.

Annual returns to continue your licence

Licensees no longer need to apply online every 12 months to renew a tobacco licence.

You'll get an email from Consumer and Business Services at least 4 weeks before your licence is due to expire, with details to submit an annual return notice and fee.

There is a $351 renewal fee.

Wholesale licensees will need to supply specific records of purchases and sales within Consumer and Business Services' downloadable template.

It will require the name, address and ABN (if in Australia) of the seller/supplier and purchaser and on what date.

Details of tobacco products sold to them or purchased/received from them will also need to include the type and brand, quantity, unit price/value and total price/value.
