A bushfire attack level (BAL) assessment will help you make decisions about siting your home and how you construct it.

Siting your house in the safest location on your land will significantly speed up your assessment. The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) will assess the location’s safety and provide advice if you choose a risky site.

A BAL assessment will also assist your designer or builder to understand additional construction measures you may need for approval under Building Rules.

The Ministerial Building Standard MBS 008 - Designated Bushfire Prone Areas - additional requirements will need to be considered.

For further information, contact Planning and Land Use Services - phone: 1800 752 664 or the CFS - phone 8115 3300.
