COVID-SAfe Check-in is a new feature that has been added to the mySA GOV app to support contact tracing.
Using the app
When you arrive at a venue, simply tap on the COVID-SAfe Check-in button at the bottom of the home screen and scan the unique QR code displayed at the venue. You don't need to check out and currently the app does not keep a history of check-ins.
No login required
You don't need to create a mySA GOV account or log in to use this feature, just tap on the button at the bottom of the screen to activate the scanning feature.
First time use
The first time you use COVID-SAfe Check-in, you'll be asked to enter your name and mobile number. You'll then receive a text message with a unique code to enter into the app. This is to verify your phone number.
You may occasionally need to re-enter your details and verify your phone number with a new code.
No smart phone?
If you don't have a compatible smart phone, you can still go into a venue but must provide contact details manually using the forms provided at the venue.
