++Disability SA ++Campbell House Respite Service Located at 19 Austral Terrace, Morphettville, South Australia 5043 - About us Campbell House provides respite care for people with disabilities. Situated in Morphettville, the house is run as a 'home away from home' and caters for up to three clients at any one time. Campbell House is fully equipped to meet the needs of people with disabilities. It has three spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, a lounge room, a dining room, a sunroom and a separate games room. Home-cooked meals are prepared the way clients like them and laundry facilities are provided as part of the overall service. Campbell House encourages a relaxed and homelike atmosphere in which clients feel cared for and secure. Campbell House is a 24-hour service, staffed by personal support workers who are trained to work with people with disabilities, and who provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. - Making the most of Campbell House Clients are encouraged to undertake their regular daytime activities. Campbell House staff can monitor pre-arranged outings. As each person has different needs, staff at Campbell House need to be informed about the particular needs and daily routines of clients. This allows House staff to best accommodate client needs, ensuring clients feel comfortable at all times. - Making a booking Disability SA clients need a referral from their Service Coordinator, who determines the person’s eligibility for the service. For more information, or to organise respite services to suit client needs, contact the Campbell House Manager on telephone number 8294-1771. Bookings should be made six weeks in advance. Emergency respite care can be arranged at times. - How much will it cost? A daily fee is charged according to the schedule set by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing. Accommodation fees cannot be claimed from Medicare or a private health fund as Campbell House provides respite care, not hospital care. - Medical service Urgent overnight medical care is provided by a Locum Service, if required, seven days a week. The Health Care, Medicare, Private Health and Ambulance cards must come with the client just in case of an emergency. - Medication Medication must be provided in a Dosette or Webster Pak from the pharmacist, along with a list of medications used, including dose and administration times, filled out by the client’s doctor on forms provided by Disability SA. - Client safety For safety reasons all medication will be held in the house office under supervision (except for Anginine type medication). - Allergies Allergies of any kind should be made known to House staff prior to admission. - What to bring - Personal items and toiletries - Incontinence, bowel care and sanitary needs - Any items from home for use in a bedroom (for example, portable television, radio, clock radio, and so on) to ensure the client’s stay is as comfortable as possible. - What we provide - Meals - Accommodation suitable for people with high support needs. - Trained support staff who provide 24-hour care - Smoking Smoking is not permitted in the House, but is permitted outdoors. - Outings and appointments The staff must be advised, on arrival, of any arranged outings and appointments. Clients are responsible for providing cab vouchers, cab fare money, spending money and relevant concession cards. External supervision arrangements must be fully documented with day and times, plus the agency’s name and telephone number. - Special needs Special needs, likes and dislikes that will help make the client’s stay more comfortable may be noted on the Special Needs Schedule provided by Disability SA. - Laundry Client’s laundry is done daily by House staff, so only a limited amount of clothing is required. (Washing powder, softener, and so on, are provided.) Possessions must be labelled, especially clothing.
