Rights and responsibilities

Health and your rights

All South Australians have the right to access the public health service provided by the South Australian government.

Your Rights and Responsibilities explains your rights and responsibilities when using the public health service in South Australia including:

  • costs and financial assistance available
  • accessing your personal health record
  • ensuring your future health care wishes are met
  • how to make a complaint or provide feedback.

It also tells you what to expect when you attend a public hospital or health centre, or if you receive a home visit from a health service.

The booklet is available in 15 languages other than English.
