Port Augusta District Centre Expansion amendment
The Port Augusta District Centre Expansion DPA - was approved by the Minister for Planning by notice in the South Australian Government Gazette on 22 October 2015.
Purpose of the amendment
This development plan amendment (DPA) proposes to:
- provide for suitably zoned land for future commercial development in keeping with the vision of Port Augusta as the major regional city servicing the Far North Region and
- to align the District Centre Zone boundary to ensure the Port Augusta Courts and Curdnatta Art Gallery sites are entirely within the District Centre Zone.
Area affected by the amendment
The DPA affects:
- part of Allotment 60, CT6047/311 in D77909 owned by the Minister for Transport and Infrastructure and
- part of Allotment 11 of D68056 of CT6030/817 owned by the Minister for Infrastructure, located between Commercial Road and Flinders Terrace at Port Augusta.
Note: A plan of division - for a boundary adjustment between existing Certificate of Title Volume 6047 Folio 311 being allotment 60 in DP 77909 and Crown Record Volume 5762 Folio 732 being allotment 406 in DP 36572 creating new allotments 1 & 2 was approved on 30 July 2015. The next step in the process is for the approved plan to be lodged at the Land Titles Office for the issue of new Certificates of Title.

Consultation on Ministerial DPAs is conducted by the Development Policy Advisory Committee (DPAC), an independent statutory committee which provides advice to the Minister for Planning.
Public consultation on the amendment closed on 8 September 2015. A public meeting was not held as there were no submissions received from people wishing to be heard.
