Positive parenting

For some, becoming a parent can be an overwhelming experience. Parents are learning as they go, and there's a lot you need to come to terms with fairly quickly. With more than 20,000 children born in South Australia in 2015, there’s a need to make sure parents have access to trusted information that can help them raise their child.

Positive parenting messaging

The Positive Parenting Messaging program connects parents with information on how to support their child's development when they’re most likely to need it. Parents will receive text messages pointing them to videos produced by the Raising Children Network.

These videos give practical tips on some of the most common challenges parents face in the first two years of raising a child, and are among the most popular videos on raisingchildren.net.au

Unless they request otherwise when registering the birth of their child, parents of children born after 1 July 2015 are eligible to receive these messages from eight weeks after the birth of their child. The videos are also available on YouTube.
