NHVR processing all heavy vehicle access permits from Monday 4 December 2017
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) and the Department of Planning Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) have been working collaboratively for the return of heavy vehicle access permit processing to the NHVR.

Operators and drivers of oversize and overmass prime movers and low loader combinations are required to carry the specified Gazette Notice in the vehicle when operating on South Australian roads.

Operators and drivers must comply with the applicable code of practice:
Immediately prior to any journey drivers must determine the approved route via the RAVnet online map system.
Note: Route maps do not need to be carried within the vehicle in South Australia.
If your operating requirements cannot be met by a Gazette Notice, you will need to apply to the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) for an oversize overmass heavy vehicle permit.
