What happens next

Your decision to become an organ donor will be recorded on the Australian Organ Donor Register - the national register for organ and tissue donation. The Department of Human Services administers the register on behalf of the Australian Government. It provides a simple way for you to record your legal decision to become an organ or tissue donor in the event of your death.

Registering is voluntary and you have complete choice over which organs or tissues to donate. Talk with your family about your decision so they know your intentions.

If you don't want to become an organ and tissue donor, you can register to not donate.
