Reporting requirements for disability service providers

Disability and Home and Community Care service providers funded by the South Australian government must provide statistical and financial reports.

Reporting requirements are outlined in each organisation's relevant funding agreements:

  • Master agreement
  • Disability Services Annexure B (disability only)
  • National Disability Grant Agreement (NDA) (disability only)
  • Individual Support Service Agreement (disability only)
  • Service agreement (HACC only)
  • Host agreement (disability only).

Refer to the contact information in each section for further information about reporting requirements included in your organisation's funding agreement.

Disability services national minimum data set reporting

Organisations must report annually using the Disability Services National Minimum Data Set (DS NMDS) reporting process.

Deadline for DS NMDS reports

The DS NMDS reporting period is 1 July to 30 June. Reports are due by the second Friday each July.

Submitting reports

Data files may be submitted in two ways:

  1. by using the disability services Data Collection Tool (DCT)
  2. through organisation specific software - organisations using this method must provide a test transmission for the initial submission.

DS NMDS training material

Training in DS NMDS data items and DCT reporting tool

Disability SA provides free training to organisations using DCT at the beginning of each calendar year. Training in the DS NMDS data items is also available at no cost and is provided on request.

Disability SA provides helpdesk support for South Australian funded organisations.

National Disability Agreement (NDA) funded organisations must submit six-monthly financial reports. These reports must follow a set format. Funded organisations are encouraged to use the South Australian disability grant acquittal form template.

Disability services vacancy reporting

Service providers are to report vacancies in accommodation services.

Deadlines for accommodation vacancy reporting

Quarterly reporting to Funds Management

31 January - 1 July to 31 December vacancy report due

31 July - 1 January to 30 June vacancy report due

30 September - 1 July to 30 June vacancy report due

30 November - 1 July to 30 June vacancy report due

Interim reporting to Disability SA Central Resource Allocation Unit

Organisations are required to contact the Central Resource Allocation Unit (CRAU) if a funded or unfunded vacancy becomes available.

SA HACC minimum data set reporting

SA HACC-funded organisations must contribute quarterly to the HACC minimum data set (MDS).

Deadlines for MDS reports

31 October - July to September report due

31 January - October to December report due

30 April - January to March report due

31 July - April to June report due

Submitting reports

Reporting data may be submitted in two ways:

  1. using the free HACC MDS national electronic form.
    Download the free HACC MDS software - Australian Government Department of Health.
  2. using your own organisation's software that meets HACC MDS reporting requirements - speak to the Funds Management section in DCSI about the software.

Disability SA provides a helpdesk for South Australian and federal HACC-funded organisations located in South Australia.
