Restrictive practices

A restrictive practice is any intervention that restricts the rights and freedoms of a person, with the primary purpose of protecting that person or others from harm.

The Restrictive Practices Authorisation scheme sets out the roles, processes, and criteria for the authorisation of regulated restrictive practices by registered NDIS service providers for NDIS participants in South Australia.

The scheme promotes accountability, transparency, and visibility of restrictive practices to reduce their use.
