Installing gas appliances

When having an LPG or natural gas appliance installed:

This applies to all installation work including homes, caravans and boats.

If electrical work is required when installing a gas appliance, you may need to use a licensed electrician unless your gas fitter holds an appropriate electrical license.

If you feel that completed gas work is unsafe or unsatisfactory:

  • contact the gas fitter who installed the equipment and ask for the problem to be fixed
  • if unsuccessful contact the equipment supplier or your gas supplier
  • if the problem is still not resolved contact the Office of the Technical Regulator.
